Regional Data Operations Manager — Asia
About the Role
Intuition is a Silicon Valley robotics startup backed by some of the most prestigious investors in tech, connected to Founders Fund, MiniMax, Raspberry Pi, and others. Our team has backgrounds from Stanford University, UC Berkeley BAIR, Fudan AI, CMU Robotics Institute, and Google, and we work with industrial partners including KUKA, Midea, Mercedes Benz, and SF Express Logistics.
We build AI-first mixed-case palletizing robots, live today on logistics lines with SF Express. To teach them, we run large-scale first-person data collection: skilled workers wear lightweight hat-mounted cameras that record how real physical work gets done (recording pauses for restrooms, breaks, idle waiting, and anything sensitive, by design), and those recordings train our own manipulation AI.
You'll own all data operations in Asia. Our flagship collection site is at the SF Express Hangcheng Aviation Transfer Hub in Bao'an, Shenzhen — you'll keep it and every site after it running smoothly, launch new sites with new partners, and write the playbooks the whole operation runs on. Onsite data operations managers report to you.
This is a high-exposure role: you'll work directly with HQ and be Intuition's face on partner floors across Asia, up to direct conversations with C-level management at Fortune 500 companies.
What You'll Do
- Own all data operations in the region: planning, execution, and review across every collection site.
- Keep the daily rhythm tight at every site through your onsite managers — floor presence, camera charging, TF (microSD) card swaps, upload-center shipments.
- Launch new collection sites end-to-end: scope with the partner, stand up the SOP, hire and train onsite managers.
- Own the device fleet and TF-card logistics chain: inventory, spares, shipping cadence, and upload-center coordination.
- Own data quality and quantity: define the metrics, run the review cadences, and report to HQ.
- Write the playbooks for data acquisition (SOPs, training, incident runbooks) and evolve them with every site you launch.
- Build the privacy pauses into every SOP and make them stick: recording stops for restrooms, breaks, idle waiting, and anything sensitive.
- Close the loop with research: learn what data the models need next and steer collection toward it.
- Be Intuition's face on the partner's floor, from line leaders up to Fortune 500 C-level.
What We're Looking For
- Very high ownership — you treat the region's output as yours and don't wait to be told what to do.
- Real creativity — most of this playbook doesn't exist yet; you'll invent it.
- Excellent communication — equally credible with warehouse floor teams, onsite managers, HQ, and partner executives.
- Fluent English and Chinese (required).
- Comfortable living on the road part of the time, with regular travel across the region.
- Very nice to have: you multiply yourself with coding and agentic tools like Claude Code.
- Very nice to have: self-managed, proactive, and highly resilient.
