Onsite Data Operations Manager
About the Role
Intuition is a Silicon Valley robotics startup backed by some of the most prestigious investors in tech, connected to Founders Fund, MiniMax, Raspberry Pi, and others. Our team has backgrounds from Stanford University, UC Berkeley BAIR, Fudan AI, CMU Robotics Institute, and Google, and we work with industrial partners including KUKA, Midea, Mercedes Benz, and SF Express Logistics.
We build AI-first mixed-case palletizing robots — and to teach them how skilled humans handle real packages, we record that work first-person. Workers wear lightweight hat-mounted cameras that capture how the job is actually done; those recordings, stored on TF cards, become the training data for our manipulation AI.
You'll run our flagship data-collection site at the SF Express Hangcheng Aviation Transfer Hub in Shenzhen. You own the two numbers that matter: the quality and the quantity of the data the site produces. Concretely, that means every camera is charged, correctly worn, and capturing the work whenever work is happening — and every TF card makes it to our upload center at day's end.
Privacy is built into the SOP: recording pauses for restrooms, breaks, idle waiting, and any privacy-sensitive situation. The cameras capture how the work is done; they are not there to evaluate anyone. You teach that standard at every shift start and hold it on the floor every day.
What You'll Do
- Own the quality and quantity of data collected at our flagship site: the numbers that feed our robot AI.
- Run shift-start onboarding: fit hats, start recording, and teach workers the SOP until it's second nature.
- Coach the privacy pauses in the SOP so workers know exactly when recording stops.
- Walk the floor through the shift, checking cameras are worn and recording correctly, and fixing issues on the spot.
- At day's end, pull TF cards and ship them to the upload center; load in fresh cards returned from it.
- Charge every camera on the dock so the next shift starts at full battery.
- Handle one-off incidents (a lost hat, a broken device) fast and calmly.
- Flag supply and support needs to Intuition operators before they stop the operation.
- As the operation scales, step up to lead a bigger team, more lines, and eventually new sites.
What We're Looking For
- Hands-on and reliable: you show up, run the checklist, and nothing slips.
- A natural coach: patient, clear, and respectful when teaching frontline workers a new routine.
- Detail-obsessed. A missed TF card or a dead battery is a lost day of data. You never let it happen.
- Comfortable spending a roughly 10-hour workday on your feet in a busy logistics hub.
- Fluent Mandarin; working English is a plus for coordinating with the Intuition team.
- High ownership: when something breaks mid-shift, you fix it or escalate it, never ignore it.
- Based in Shenzhen or ready to relocate.
- No robotics background needed; you'll master the devices and the SOP fast.
Why Join Us
You'll sit at the front of the data flywheel that teaches our robots how skilled humans work — every card your site ships becomes training data for robot AI already running on live logistics lines. You'll work directly with the Intuition HQ team, at a company whose partners include SF Express, Midea, and Mercedes-Benz. And because the operation is scaling fast, so is the role: run one site well and you'll take on more people, more lines, and more sites.
